How to do a mask the Leo Dias De Los Muertos way- part III

A diversão só aumenta daqui pra frente, hora da pintura!
Eu uso tinta acrílica fosca, pincéis e esponjas.
Nada de equipamentos chiques como aerógrafos.
Sempre inicio pelas cores mais escuras e vou passando para as mais claras gradativamente.
Basicamente pinto todas seções em seu tom mais escuro e vou alternando aplicações de tom,quando uso esponjas nem me preocupo em retirar toda a tinta anterior delas,a idéia é que quanto mais sutil a passagem de cores melhor.
Como qualquer modelista faria,procuro criar areas de sombra e luz usando as cores de modo que se destaquem os contornos da minha escultura.

Quando a pintura está completa eu selo tudo com algumas camadas de verniz fixador em spray.Eu uso o da Corfix, é propaganda mesmo,por anos e anos o fabricante me apoiou e forneceu todo seu catálogo de produtos para que eu explorasse as possibilidades.O resultado tu pode ver em todos meus trabalhos neste blog.

Então começo a aplicar detalhes como cabelos, lentes para os olhos,etc.
Colo mecha por mecha de cabelo usando super bonder.






The fun only increases from now on, time to painting!
I use acrylic paints,brushes and sponges.
No fancy equipments such as airbrushes at all.
I always start with the darkest colors and go gradually clearer.
Basically I paint all sections in its darkest tone and then I start to mix tones, when I use sponges I dot worry about take all the last paint from it to use the next one, the idea is that the more subtle the color blends the better.
As any modelist would do, I try to create areas of shadown and light using the colors in a way that it shows the shapes of my sculpture better.


When the painting is complete I seal the piece with some coats of mat varnish spray.I use the Corfix one, yeah thats advertising, for years the company supported me and hooked me up with all their catalog of products so I could explore the possibilities.The result you can see in all my works on this blog.

Then I start to apply hairs, lenses to hide my eyes, etc.
I attach every single hair with superglue.
